Designing for the 21st Century International Student Design Competition

Designing for the 21st Century international student design competition will be held in conjunction with the next international conference in 2004 to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The program will require students to integrate universal and sustainable design in a multi-purpose structure that meets the needs of a real community in the "majority" or "developing" world. Chair of the international student design competition is Ricardo Gomes, Acting Chair, Industrial Design, and Director of the Center for Global Design.

Ron Mace Designing for the 21st Century Awards 2004

The 2004 Designing for the 21st Century Conference in Rio De Janeiro will again feature awards to honor visionary leadership in universal design. Details about the nomination process will be available in the Fall of 2003.

Excellence in Universal Design, Great Places Fit for People, 2004

The current awards program is expected to be repeated with a call for entries in the Spring of 2004.
