IHCD Lunch & Learn Lecture

12:00pm Friday, April 12th
200 Portland Street, Boston, MA 02114

The Spaulding Rehabilitation Network is proud to present Ernst Van Dyk

Ernist van Dyk crossing the finish line at the 2004 Boston marathon

To complete one marathon is no easy task. But with nine Boston Marathon wins, Ernst van Dyk not just accomplished the unprecedented, he's made history. Ernst has won more titles than any other male athlete in the marathon's prestigious 115 year history.  A racing legend, Ernst has won marathons world wide and multiple medals at paralympics in both handcycling and wheelchair marathons, including gold in 2008 in Beijing.

Ernst was born in apartheid South Africa with a disability.  Doctors told his parents he would only face a lifetime of hardship. Rather than listen to what people told him he could not do, Ernst was raised to believe that anything was possible. Today, Ernst is a world-renowned athlete, advocate, and champion who is an inspiration to thousands across the globe.
