Home Depot to Conduct Workshops Using Universal Design
On Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 11:00AM every Home Depot in the United States will conduct a free one-hour workshop called "Update Your Home for Lifelong Comfort." This workshop is scheduled to cover how to apply the Principles of Universal Design in living environments. It will be the first of a series of ongoing combined AARP/Home Depot workshops to be held in all Home depot stores in the U.S.
On October 26-28, 2006 AARP will have their national 2006 event & expo in Anaheim, California. They plan to have one or two new beautiful universally designed show homes within the 400,000 square foot exhibit hall. They also plan to feature universal design as a major segment of this exciting and large national event. (During the three-day 2004 event in Las vegas, there was a combined attendance of over 49,000.)
AARP and The Home Depot will be announcing and publicizing all of this information nationally.
